leaving today

The last two days have not been the best. I am miserable with this weather, it has made me extra cranky on top of lack of sleep as well. Had a doctors appointment yesterday and got some more shocking news...not really...just that I gained more weight and now have to be more cautious of what I am eating. I know it's not the end of the world, but this weekend is going to be pretty difficult considering I am going home and have all these plans to go out to eat with family and friends and will be surrounded by junk food. I guess I am just gonna have to really stay on top of it and keep up the exercising once I get back in town next week. I am really looking forward to the reunion and seeing my friends and then the shower on Sunday. But I am a bit frustrated, it will probably do me some good to finally get out of this heat for a while, I am so looking forward to the cooler weather, can't wait. Gonna be leaving for the airport here shortly...not looking forward to enduring two...two hour flights... I hope I can get an aisle seat and I hope there are no delays or anything. Hopefully the flight times will go by fast and I will be landing in Indy soon enough.

cooking at 3am

Last night I met up with Laura at North for dinner, it was so good to see her and catch up, I honestly had not see her probably about 10 years. That is crazy. It was a good time though.
This morning at 230 the dogs woke me up needing to go outside, so I go downstairs and the kitchen light is on and then Luke walks in the door, apparently he had gotten off early.
I go back to bed, but can't sleep because I am all of the sudden smelling something cooking. And this something is the beef stew that Luke is making. He must have decided 3am is good time to start up the slow cooker and get it going since it would be cooking all day or something.
I love you babe and love the fact that you are making beef stew, but you have to remember that our bedroom is right above the kitchen and my sense of smell is outrageous right now :)
Needless to say I never went back to sleep so I am really really tired today and I have to get through a whole day of work, a doctors appointment and then go home finish laundry, eat beef stew and pack for the trip home and get up really early tomorrow. I hope this day goes by really fast.

The heat is on!

I can't complain enough about the heat right now because it is seriously way too hot and I think even just a tad bit more unbearable because I am pregnant. No work out today, I need to get home after work finish laundry and get things done around the house before I take off. And I get to meet up with Laura for dinner, her treat, or actually her employers treat. Which is so very nice of her and I am looking forward to it. I am really looking forward to Friday, I get to finally meet Miss Bristol and hang out with Anne. And have lunch with my family at Papa Joes, which should be really, really good. Saturday I have a lunch date with Ameena and then Andrea and Eileen will be getting in sometime that afternoon and we will be getting ready for the reunion which should be a good time. I am looking forward to it all!

3 day work week

The week is finally here that I get to go home and these next 3 days will be busy ones thank goodness. I had a pretty good weekend. Luke and I went out to lunch on Friday to Chick-fil-A, and I don't know if it was because it was Friday and school is still out or if that place is always like this because it has an indoor playground, but it was packed with kids, I mean packed! But the food was certainly good. We went into Babies R Us to look at cribs, We weren't there very long and didn't buy anything. Friday night, Joe treated us to dinner at the new El Charros that opened up in Oro Valley. It was really nice and really good. Saturday I took the dogs and went to the pool again for a couple hours before it got too hot. I managed to get them in it so they could cool off, they just really don't like water, even in this heat. And yesterday was pretty uneventful, Luke and I went to the grocery at around 2pm, which was a huge mistake, it was just too hot to be out doing anything, or at least for me it was. I have to get all my laundry done tonight, I have dinner plans tomorrow night with Laura who is in town for work and Wednesday I have a doc appointment and then have to get packed to leave Thursday morning. Can't wait to get home :)

half day

Well just when things are going good, that is when something bad has to happen. We were told yesterday that this week and next week we have to cut our hours back to 32 instead of 40. So I left early yesterday and I'm only working a half day today. I really hope this does not continue, now is not the time for me to be working less hours and getting less money. A week from today I will be in Avon, can't wait!

Good morning

This morning is starting out good so far...I was able to finally take I-10 into work and got here in record time, which now means I can sleep just a little later and still get to work on time. And the AC got fixed yesterday so the office is nice and comfortable this morning, thank God. I was so hot when I left here yesterday the last thing I wanted to go do was workout, but I did it anyways. And plan on working out again today. I'm starting to get really excited for my 10 year class reunion coming up next weekend. I need to figure out what I am going to wear, hopefully my black dress will fit and I can just use that...but shoes is another story...so I guess I should get on that and start planning. I am really excited to see people that I literally have not seen since graduation day. I cannot believe that it has been 10 years, I definitely feel old now. Today is kind of a cloudy day, I hope it continues so it won't be so hot today.

No air conditioning

Well I am at work eating lunch in the heat, because we have no air conditioning. I can't tell you how happy I am to be here right, just sitting here sweating..it's painful. I have a small fan blowing on me, but that doesn't do a whole lot when it's over 100 degrees outside!!! They say they are sending someone out today but have yet to give us a time. I just want to go home because I am not getting a heck of a whole lot done, I can't even concentrate. I shouldn't be sweating while sitting down. I should probably go get some ice cream or something, but I don't even want to go outside because it's only hotter out there and it takes forever for my car to cool down. In a nutshell this has not been a good day! Let's hope they get it fixed today so tomorrow we can all work comfortably!

the kicking is out of control

I noticed last night the little Nash seems to be kicking/punching pretty hard...to the point of me getting annoyed by it. He hits hard! And at the most non-convenient times. Like when I am trying to relax and watch a movie last night, then when I finally get comfortable in bed and is trying to go to sleep then this morning before I even get out of bed and now here at work.
It's not the sweet little fluttering anymore, these are hard kicks and punches that he is throwing!
Got in a good workout yesterday, even though I really didn't want to go, but glad that I did. And will do it all over again today. Sunday there was a high sat of 109 degrees...that is craziness. I am starting to notice the swelling which is not helped by any means from the heat. Luckily my wedding rings are still fitting, so that is good. I'm actually looking forward to the cooler weather that Indy has been having, hopefully they don't have some kind of massive heat wave when I come home. Got another baby shower gift delivered yesterday, baby monitors, this time I know it was from Luke's grandpa Marv, so I'm positive he sent the high chair as well. It's nice getting these gifts and I can't wait to see what all we get at the shower, hopefully a lot, because I still have not bought one single thing. I really, really want too...but have held back the urge until after the shower.

10 more days

The weekend went by pretty fast. Friday night Luke and I went out to dinner at Jax Kitchen with our $100 gift card and we ate soo much food, but it was so good. I had the Kobe burger and it was the best burger I have had in a long, long time. Then we went and saw the movie Public Enemies based on a true store of John Dillinger. I liked it, it was pretty long but good. Saturday morning I made breakfast for Luke and I because he had to go into work early for a change. Then I took the dogs and went to the pool for a couple hours. Another really hot weekend, I had to sit in the pool it was too hot to even sit on a lounge chair. Laid around the rest of the day Saturday and then Luke came home and cooked pork chops on the grill. Then we all crashed out pretty early Saturday. I was up by 630 on Sunday, read the paper, went through the sale ads, cut some coupons, made my grocery list. Then I got some really great news, Anne had left me a message and she had her baby Bristol late at like 1am on Saturday. I finally talked to her later on on Sunday evening and I guess the labor happened so fast that she didn't even have time to get an epidural. Needless to say she had a quick labor and everyone is healthy and doing good. I think they get to go home today and then I get to see her when I get back into town. Can't wait.
Anne is gonna bring her to the shower, so everyone will get to see her. And Kristin is going to bring McKenzie, and Kelsey is going to bring Abram...so there is going to be all kinds of babies there!

Friday! Friday!

It has felt like the longest week ever. I got to work a half hour early this morning to get some stuff done that Todd needed like yesterday. Got my breakfast and lunch at Subway. Inhaled my breakfast sandwich, it is always so good. We got a high chair delivered to our house yesterday. I am not sure who got it for us though, it didn't say who it was from or anything. Hopefully someone will fess up to it soon. I did get some of the nursery cleaned out and some stuff put away and other stuff thrown away and made the box of good will stuff even bigger. I need to go back to Babies R Us and pick out a stroller and car seat and furniture...I keep forgetting. I'm thinking I should just bring 2 suitcases home with me to help get some of the shower stuff back home, which means less to ship back. I already for lunch and it is only 9 am. I have been here since 630am...and I have until at least 3pm before I can leave, seems like that is so far away. Jess emailed me this morning said she already bought something for Nash, it's not even a shower gift just something that she saw. So nice of her. She is gonna go broke when Emily has a baby. I have done really well and held back from buying anything so far for Nash. I figured the best thing to do is wait until after the shower to see what we really need and then I can go shopping. Since we have to buy the furniture I don't want to shell out too much on other things that we might already get. Once again I did not sleep well last night. The dogs can not seem to get comfortable which in turn makes me toss and turn and I can't get comfortable. Plus the boys smelled the ribs that Luke was making at like 1030 last night and they were immediately up and wanting to go downstairs. So tonight we have a date at Jax Kitchen, should be pretty good, too bad I have nothing to wear. I'm gonna have to go home and do a good load of laundry just so I can have something to wear out. I'm thinking about maybe going to the pool again tomorrow morning and starting the 3rd book of the Twilight series. Or maybe starting another book or maybe continue to read "What to Expect when your Expecting" probably take the boys over there again and put them in the water to cool them off, they seemed to enjoy it last weekend. Hopefully Bobby won't bring me another headless pigeon over to me as a gift.
Thank good ness for the weekends...only 13 more days until a my break to go home.

Wow...2 blogs in one day...

I have some time to kill here at the end of the day. It has been a slow day here at work...I hate those kind of days, they make me really sleepy. I have decided today when I go home I am going to start cleaning, organinzing the nursery. Right now it is just a room full of boxes and junk. I need to make a trip to Goodwill this weekend, I'm also still missing some shoes, not sure where they are. I hope they weren't with the stuff that I already took over to the donation bin. That would not be good. I just bought those shoes last year. No big plans this weekend, I know for sure I will be doing laundry and going to the grocery, but other then that nothing on the agenda. Getting that much closer to my long awaited trip home...only 14 more days to go...2 weeks! I was just talking to Erika about daycare and how expensive it is, even just 3 days a week, it's still expensive! Yikes! So far I have had a few Indiana takers on the house for sale next door to us...of course not really...but that would be nice :)
I decided to go ahead and get a Pediatrician instead of going with our family doctor...I think that is the best thing to do, so I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can get in at the Oro Valley Pediatrics...close to our house, which is nice and has gotten some good reviews.
One more thing to add to the "to do" list :)

House next door is for sale

I came home last night from working out and noticed that the house next to us is for sale. It has a pool. Our realtor emailed us and said it was another short sale. It's kinda sad that these people can't afford to pay their mortgage anymore. But now Luke and I are in recruiting mode and want to try to find someone we know who might be looking to buy. It would be nice to have a neighbor we know and have use to the pool too.:)
I did not sleep well at all last night, the dogs kept waking me up and it was hot! I think I need to find a pediatrician, I'm not sure if we are going to use the family doctor that we have now. I don't really know what to do yet. I will have to look into it. Today is a day that I don't "feel" pregnant. Some days I wake up and I forget that I am. It is usually as the day progresses on and I start to eat a lot that I really start to feel big and get bigger. Luke and I got a $100 gift certificate to go eat at Jax Kitchen from our realtor. We are going to take advantage of it tomorrow night. Should be good, we have not been there in a while and Luke knows the owner as well, they have pretty good food there. I think we have the "who is going to take care of the dogs while we are gone" issue taken care of. I feel better now about it. One less thing to worry about. I got an email back today from the director of a Kindercare daycare that is just minutes from our house. Not sure if that will be an option or have to be an option for us...daycare is usually really expensive, but I won't be able to work part time forever, so we will have to figure something out. I guess we will just have to weigh the pros and cons and the money situation. Either way, we won't need to have daycare 5 days a week, but they only offer the option of 3 or 5 days. So we will see what happens. I know everything will work out in the end and that it is gonna be tough at first, but that is ok, it makes life a little more exciting.

Another day at work

Today is just another day, a little bit closer to the weekend, but just another day at work, doing the same thing. Nothing really exciting happening. I did try a new sandwich last night from Quiznos and it was SO good. I ate a large one all by myself. The Cabo Turkey club...I highly recommend it! Luke is off tonight and we are going to have Spaghetti for dinner...I'm trying to make a real effort to go to the store weekly and just buy what we need for the week. And I'm also trying to do a better a job of planning meals for the nights that Luke is home. We'll see how long that lasts. But it has been good so far. I talked to Anne yesterday and she is hopefully pretty close to having her baby. She is already dialated, I just hope she has Bristol before I come home so that I can see her. I told her to keep me posted so we will see what happens.
Still trying to figure out what we are going to do with the dogs while we are home for Christmas, I hope everything works out and we can find someone to watch them. I would love to just take them, but it is so expensive, plus we will have baby, plus I already know Bobby will not do well on a plane ride, or atleast to have to be in a bag the whole time, he would not like it. I can't help but to be always planning ahead for whatever it may be.

Finally watched that movie

I finally took the time to watch Seven Pounds last night. We have had it for atleast a month now and I finally had time to sit down and watch it. It was pretty good, kind of predictable, but I liked it. Got the invitation to my baby shower yesterday. My mom picked out the invites, I like them, they were cute. I'm pretty tired this morning, and pretty sore from my workout yesterday. But I am gonna continue with going 4 days a week. Eileen's sister Laura sent me a message yesterday, she lives in San Diego and is going to be in town for work at the end of this month, a few days before I leave town. So I am going to try and get together with her for dinner or lunch. I haven't seen her in so long. Can' t wait to see Eileen and Andrea very soon. I haven't seen them since the wedding, it's been waaaay too long. We got our first electric bill yesterday and it was outrageous. Unfortunately we have a lot of windows in the house that bring in the heat during the day. We will just have to do what we can to try and conserve and get through the summer heat. I will be glad once I can turn the air off and open the windows and doors at night to let cool air in, that will be nice.

Had a good weekend

Overall I had a really good weekend. Friday night Luke and I met Vianney and Courtney at PF Changs for dinner and it was really, really good. It was nice to catch up with them, we don't see them enough. Saturday morning I got up early and took the dogs over to the pool before it got too hot. It was a very hot weekend, hottest so far. I sat in the pool and finally finished New Moon, now I need to start on the 3rd book of the Twilight series. Bobby and Brewski enjoyed themselves, I put them in the pool to cool them off. And then Bobby brought me a present that he must have found somewhere in the yard. He brought me a headless pigeon, it was gross. I had dispose of him over the back fence. Spend the rest of Saturday cleaning and getting the house ready for the small get together we had for the UFC fights. Mike brought wings from Wingstop and they were really, really good. We had a smal crowd, but it was fun, I was still in bed by 11pm. I spent Sunday inside, in the AC relaxing on the couch, watching TV all day. Finally went to the store and cleaned up the house a little bit. Then spent the rest of the night watching Ice Road Truckers, which I think is my new favorite show, it was good. Then went to bed about 10pm. Overall a good weekend. The house is finally in order, with exception to the room that is compiled of boxes and stuff we still have to find a place for. My mom sent out the baby shower invitations, so I'm excited to see how those turned out. Eileen's sister Laura is going to be in town right before I leave for Indy, so I am gonna get together with her for dinner. I haven't seen her in forever. Now back to work on another hot Monday. It's too hot to even walk to the mail box...ready for the cooler temps to come already. Our electric bill was outrageous for this past month, not a good thing, we will have to cut back on the AC usage I think.

It's Friday

Thank goodness it's Friday, although this week did go by pretty fast, I'm ready for the weekend. We are going out to dinner with some good friends tonight at PF Changs, I haven't been there in quite some time. I got the house some what organized last night but still a work in progress. Just got done eating a delicious breakfast sandwich from Subway, I could have ate a footlong instead of a 6 inch :) I have about 20 days before my trip back home. I was able to get a photographer set up for newborn pictures after Nash is born. I'm really excited about it. I talked to the photographer on the phone for a good 30 minutes yesterday and I really like her and like all the pictures of her work that I have seen. She will come to our house to take the pics which will be nice and easier for us. I hope we can have the pictures by Christmas, it will be tight but I think possible. That will be good Christmas gifts for family this year. I'm still trying to think about how we are gonna make our schedules work for when I need to go back to work. I think it will be kinda stressful at first and we may have to eventually go to doing daycare, which I really want to try and avoid at all costs. I know it will all work out, but I like to plan ahead on these type of things, so we will see what happens I guess. It's really scary to think we won't have my half of the income coming in each week for like 9 weeks. We need to save, save, save now. Another thing to worry about.

Lots going on

It seems like for some reason in the past 24 hours a lot has been going on. I decided to tell some family and friends the name that we decided on for the baby. So that was fun to hear everyone's reactions to it. We had a really good dinner last night right before a big storm came. I love cheeseburgers, mac n cheese, baked beans and some watermelon. That is a very "summer" meal. Luke was able to install some hardware in our downstairs bathroom, but had some trouble with the shades I bought for the bathroom window. They don't look all that great. But they do the job of covering up the window and that is what is important. He will have to find his tool box to re hang those and get it down before Saturday. Unfortuanately we have a nasty leak coming from our dining room window. Go figure it's monsoon season and it is raining almost everyone evening. Luke is going to try to buy something to close it up, hopefully it works and we don't need to call someone out to get it fixed, or at least not right now. We still need to hang all of our pictures up and clean and get odd things put away. It will all get done, eventually if not before Saturday. We still need to go back to Babies R Us and pick out a car seat and stroller and looking into buying the bed and changing table. I'm still craving Pizza King, and I found out yesterday that they actually are in cahoots with UPS and are now shipping pizzas out of state on dry ice. Expensive I'm sure, but totally worth it with the cravings that I have been having lately. It wont be long and I will be able to eat it back home in Avon. I took tonight off from working out so that I could get some things done around the house , especially since Luke will be working off duty today and Joe doesn't get home until later too. The garage door people are coming tomorrow to install a new, much quieter motor on our door and I will finally have a garage door opener as well, which will be nice for a change.
Found out that Joe's graduation is October 29th, which is really close to my due date. So Barb, Tim , Brian, Kelsey and little Abram will be out here visiting for a few days for that. I emailed a photographer yesterday to get some information on getting newborn pictures takes for birth announcements. She already got back to me, so hopefully I will be meeting with her and getting some more info and prices and what not. Luke and I need to start looking at flight to come on Christmas, I think we are looking at flying out on the 22nd or 23rd, and then I'm not sure when I will come back to town. I am planning on going back to work the week after New Years...so hopefully all will work out and we can make that happen.

7-8-9

Today's date is 7-8-09...I wonder if that means anything...like something exciting will happen today. I spent yesterday morning watching the Michael Jackson Memorial on CNN on my computer. It really was sad, especially his daughter speaking at the very end. I have been craving Pizza King pizza SO BAD! I can't wait to get back to Avon and indulge in that craving, maybe a couple of times :) Got the big 10 year reunion as well, which I think I found a comfy black dress to wear to it. Nothing fancy, but I think it will work. I finally broke down last night and went to the maternity store and bought a few things that will hopefully get me through the rest of the pregnancy. I really don't want to spend too much more money on maternity or big clothes. Luke is having a few people over Saturday night to watch a UFC fight. Which means we really need to get the house in the order in the next couple of days. Friday night we have plans with another couple, friends of ours, to go out to dinner, looking forward to that.

4th of July weekend

Last Thursday I had a doc appt. and after being weighed realized that I have gained 20lbs. not good...hopefully I will slow down on the weight gain. because I'm only half way through the pregnancy and I don't want to gain another 20lbs. I don't feel that big and I don't think I look that big. I hope I just don't get really big and really miserable. This past weekend was 4th of July. Luke had to work, but I was able to see fireworks from the back yard coming from the park down the street. Luke and I went and saw Transformers on Friday afternoon...it was too long and I could have fallen asleep easily. Other then that a pretty uneventful weekend. I did a lot of laying around on the couch and being lazy. It's been really hot out lately. 4 more weeks and I get to go home :) Can't wait!

crazy Wednesday at work

The work day is winding down and it has been a crazy one, very busy...nice for a change, there is no time to get sleepy for a mid-afternoon nap. I am however concerned about the neighbors dogs that live behind us. I noticed this morning that it still looks as though no one is home and the poor dogs have been outside constantly in the heat and rain. It was raining this morning and the poor dog was just howling and jumping up at the door wanting to be let inside. I decided that if I get home today and they are still outside and no one is home, I am calling the Oro Valley police and ask them go to check out the house to make sure everything is ok, or to check on the dogs, I don't even know if they have food or water. I would hope people are smarter then that to think that leaving your pets outside in AZ is even something to consider...no way. I am working out again tonight. 3rd day in a row...so far so good. Today is cardio and strength training. Luke is off tonight, and Joe has to work, so I am wondering what we are going to do for dinner. I finally got a nice excel spread sheet( courtesy of Emmy) to do our monthly budgeting. The fact that we will be minus my income for atleast 9 weeks when baby is here is really scary. So we have to buckle down and really watch our spending from now until November and save, save, save!!! I just peaked out the window and it looks like there is a storm brewing up. I love it...love this weather, except we do have al little humidity going on in the office right now and I don't like that. I don't miss Indiana's humidity at all! The bug company is suppose to go spray our house today...I hope they show up, the guy was suppose to call me and so far I have not rec'd any calls. I really want the ant situation taken care of and I cleaned the darn pantry out too so they could spray. Thank God I get to leave work at 130 tomorrow to go to my doc appointment and get my 3 day weekend started finally. Luke wants to have people over next weekend, and the house is really not near ready for "that". So I will probably be spending my hoilday weekend getting things done that I have been procrastinating on.
