Give me a Kiss

I probably said " Nash, give me a kiss" 100 times last night and I got nothing, yet when Luke says it he plops one right on him...what is up with that? :)
It is so cute though. Last night he learned a very tricky skill to a toy that we bought him for Christmas and so we clapped every time he completed that skill and he just loved it.
I had a successful but frustrating day at the mall, if I had remembered that the kids were still out of school and going to be swarming the mall, I would have voted that we go next week. I just can't handle the crowds sometimes, and Nash was cranky and squirming in his stroller, so Luke bought him a Hurley hat from the Buckle, it seemed to satisfy him for a little bit.
I will have to make a trip back another time to finish my shopping, I do so much better shopping on my own at my own pace. But bless Luke, because he totally understands that and would take Nash and go do their own thing and then meet out front of the store. It's still too much pressure for me.
The weather has taken an ugly turn, when we left the mall, the wind had kicked up and the temp had dropped and it was raining and is still raining and they keep talking about snow, but I have yet to see any. They have closed Mt. Lemmon so we can't even go up there to enjoy the snow t if we wanted too.
I forgot tomorrow is New Years Eve, I guess that is what happens, when you have no plans and you have taken all your Christmas decor down and it just feels like another work week. But I am however delighted that I might get to sleep in tomorrow, hopefully Nash will let me.
Today is my brother's birthday and all it does is remind me that I'm turning 30 in exactly a month, I'll be 30 on the 30th...does that mean anything? I'll ask Emmy, she'll know...

snow in the desert

There is a good chance we could get snow in the next 24 hours, I don't think it will happen, but I guess we'll see. However for tonight there is a 100% chance for rain, so it's gonna be one of those night where the dogs won't go out side to pee because they are so spoiled with this nice Arizona weather and if they have to deal with snow, they might just freak out totally, well maybe just Bobby, Brewski has seen and peed in snow before, although he probably does not remember it.
Last night Luke and I watched the Dark Crystal, and old movie that Jim Henson made back in the 80's, it's all puppets, it brought back some memories, I remembered bits and pieces of it, it was weird.
Getting ready to leave soon, to go meet Luke and Nash at the mall to do our Christmas shopping...finally :)
Hoping to get in another workout like yesterdays, but this day, just really makes me want to curl up in bed. Speaking of bed, I got no sleep last night, Nash woke up at midnight again, screaming, so I rocked him for awhile, that always seems to work ,but then I couldn't go back to sleep, next thing I knew it was 230am and I was still wide awake, for some reason my brain was just going a mile a minute, all these things that I need to get done, kept coming up and then I remembered that Luke's friend Matt is getting married this weekend and we haven't even got them a card yet to mail. Tomorrow is my brother's birthday, he is going to be 34..I think, I can never remember how old people are anymore, especially myself, for some reason, I still think I'm 28

Back to the norm

Christmas has come and gone, the tree and decorations are put up until next year. Overall we had a great Christmas considering we are far from all of our family this year.
Nash got so much stuff, lots of new toys and outfits and pj's. He has a whole wardrobe for our Indiana visit. We ended up having our big breakfast for dinner like I had planned and then Nash got a bath while I played Santa putting out all the presents and then we opened presents, he didn't really understand what was going on, and didn't get into it until we took the gifts out of the packaging. But it was fun for him and us.
The weatherman is talking about possible snow here in Tucson this week, that is just crazy, but I hope it does happen, it would be nice to see it again.
Still have not booked our flight home for Indy, I'm still holding out on better pricing, hoping that it will drop from the $300 per person it is right now, but I think prices are holding steady :(
Wish we could stay longer then just 8 days, it is never enough time to make the rounds to see everyone and it always just flies by.
Luke and I will be taking advantage of the after Christmas sales this week and doing our Christmas shopping for ourselves then. Hoping to get some good stuff :)
Back to work for now....

flu bug!

I caught the flu and after not having if for at least 4 years, I forgot how awful it really it is and I have now learned my lesson on not getting the flu shot! Luckily I made Luke go get one and Nash had already gotten the first part of 2 flu shots that he had to get, so hopefully I didn't pass anything on to either of them. I don't know how single Moms do it, with getting the flu and still having to take care of kids, I called Luke and made him come home early from work, because I could not even function. Luckily by Saturday night I was feeling better and back to normal on Sunday, so that I could disinfect the whole house :)
Last night we went out with good friends Vianney and Courtney to enjoy dinner, they are going to be moving to Seattle, and I am definitely going to miss them a lot. But they are moving to bigger and better things in WA. So happy for them.
Luke took off today to head to Vegas for his interview, he is driving, which I guess it is only about a 6.5 hour drive, so not too bad, but I worry, because he is by himself.
His big interview is tomorrow, and once again I think I might be more nervous then he is. I know he will do great, but this is just such a weird and dragged out process, that I really just have no idea what to expect. Hopefully all turns out well. But tonight and tomorrow it's just gonna be me and Nash. Not really a big deal, since Nash will be at the sitters while I'm working.
Luke is gonna try to take Christmas Eve off , that will be nice, because then we can just do our presents with Nash then, and that will be our Christmas. I'm looking forward to it!
My work has okayed us to work the week between Christmas and New Years, which is good, because I was a little concerned with missing that paycheck. I plan to work Tue-Thurs, so I will still get a little bit of a break, which will be nice. And hopefully it wont make too big of a difference for us on our finances.
We have no New Years plans, in fact I can't recall the last time we actually did something on New Years.

tired of the warm weather

For once I would rather it be a little colder then this 80 degrees it has been. Nash and I did take advantage of it yesterday and he walked around in the cul-de-sac and I met some of our neighbors, very nice people, even invited us over for Christmas :) And they just LOVED Nash, he is such a little show off.
They kept saying how weird it was to be putting up Christmas lights in this warm weather.
I think Nash must be cutting another tooth, he is back to his sleepless nights and it's always right in the middle of the night, I rocked him for awhile last night around 2am, it really was the only thing that calmed him down. I'm sure he slept in this morning. I definitely had some trouble getting up this morning, hit snooze a couple of times.
Even the dogs didn't want to get out of bed.
No plans this evening, although I am going to squeeze in a workout before heading home.
Tomorrow night is going to be hectic with Emily babysitting Nash so we can go to Luke's work Christmas party, and I have to get home at a decent time so that she can get home, because she is still in school and having finals this week I'm sure.
So Thursday will prob be a rough day, I'm sure I will be tired.
Hoping we can get together with some of our friends this Sunday, even though Luke has to work, we'll see what happens.
I really need to start wrapping presents for Nash, Luke asked when I was going to start putting presents under the tree, I was like...Santa does not come before Christmas eve night! Duh!
No presents under the tree until then, and then I even have to figure out when to let Nash open them, with Luke working at 6am Christmas morning, I don't really know when to do it, maybe Christmas Eve night....we'll see.

Sleepy Monday

I knew today was going to be rough, Nash chose last night to not want to go to sleep, in fact he was a little booger all day yesterday, not wanting to nap, but yet crying like he was tired.
I got very little accomplished yesterday. We did enjoy the nice weather on Saturday and went for a nice long walk at the park. Luke cooked dinner on Friday night for me, I actually didn't know what to do with myself, I just stood in the kitchen and he kept telling me to go relax, it was weird, it has been a while since I haven't cooked or helped cook when Luke is grilling. He did everything, not that there was much to it, but it was nice and the food was good.
Nash and I went shopping Saturday evening to get some stuff for his little girlfriends over at the sitters. He just loves those girls. And then we enjoyed some Mc Donalds, while Luke as out with his buddies. I saw very little of him this weekend.
Last night I made Lasagna for the first time, it was pretty good, I used turkey instead of hamburger meat, still tastes good to me, and I have plenty of leftovers for tonight.
Luke and I are hooked on Sarah Palin's Alaska reality show on TLC, sort of makes me want to go to Alaska for a trip, it's pretty beautiful there, but I can't imagine living there.
We have Luke's work Christmas party this Wednesday, which means we have a sitter for Nash and I have to leave the party early, which I'm ok with, I will have to work on Thursday anyways.
Can't take any more days off for the rest of this week and next, I just hope it goes by fast and my mini-vacation from work goes by slow.
The weather has been unusually warm lately, I don't like it, I want it to be just a little bit cold by Christmas.
Got my boxes shipped out today, one less thing I have to worry about.
Two years ago on Christmas here it actually snowed, it would be nice if that could happen again.
I'm hoping this week Luke and I and Nash can make it over to Winter Haven Festival of Lights, I have never been ,but I hear this year it is suppose to be the best so far. I think Nash will like seeing all the lights.

..and the week comes to a close..finally

What seems like a crazy week is finally ending, well at least work wise. No plans underway this weekend for me, although Luke is going to hang with some of his buddies Saturday, I have nothing planned. I do need to start wrapping presents and get my boxes ready to ship out on Monday.
It has been pretty warm here during the say, I still find myself turning on the AC once I get in the car.
I have never been so annoyed as I was last night while at our weekly trip to Wal-Mart. Too many people, a crazy lady and her daughter that I we kept running into down every aisle and every time the daughter felt it necessary to comment on how cute Nash is. Not that I disagree, but it was total overload. The cashier lady was weird, she was hurrying and it was just chaotic. I can tell the cashiers get so ticked off because I bring my reusable bags, and it makes it more of a pain for them when bagging stuff, they hate it :)
I stayed up way to late watching all my DVRed shows and now I'm exhausted.
But I'm really considering going to a late movie tonight since Nash and Luke will be asleep by 830 :).

Poor Nasher

Got to work early this morning, actually the past two days, I have gotten here at 630, trying to get this darn NAFTA done before the end of the year. It's only 8am and I feel like I have been her forever!
Poor Nash fell twice yesterday, once over the side of the couch on to our hard cement tile, I wasn't home, Luke said he hit his head, but seemed to be ok otherwise. When I got home from the gym, they were outside walking with this green dinosaur toy that he loves. So we stayed outside for a bit and walked around and he was doing some walking on his own and sure enough he tripped and fell flat on his face on the road, it was awful. He now has road rash on his nose and a nice bruise/bump on his forehead. Poor guy, it was such a rough day. I have not seen his battle scars against the road today, I imagine they look worse. I need to buy him one of those little ice pack things for kids, all we had was a bag of frozen vegetables to put on his head. He handled it well and was back to normal within 5 minutes with little crying. He is a tough one! There are many more falls and scrapes and scratches to come, I'm sure. But I think the first are the scariest.
We gave him pizza for dinner and a bath to make him feel better, he loves this bath time.
I'm sure he slept good last night.

We have a daredevil on our hands!

It's official...Nash is a daredevil! Now that he has figured out how to climb on and off the couch, we can no longer box him in our living room because he has figured out how to climb over the ottoman. Unless we keep him busy playing with his toys, but the solution is to get the gate up and going. I said I was going to get to last weekend and never did, so I definitely need to get to it soon.
We have to line the pillows up on the floor under the couch because he insists on standing up and running and falling and flipping off, it's scary!
He likes to get in and out of his toy basket go up and down the stairs, only with us helping him of course, and he likes to climb up and down off the bed. He uses the doggy steps to get up and then apparently tries to slide down off the bed like he does the couch, I have yet to witness it yet.
Soon he will be that monkey that crawls out of his crib...we need to make sure we master the up and down the stairs before that happens!
I think I am close to being done with Christmas shopping for now, or at least until after Christmas.
I actually have more people to buy for after Christmas this year then I do for before.
I have to get my box ready to go and shipped by next week, I can't believe Christmas is only 2 weeks away, time really does just go way too fast.
I'm actually not happy that I have the week off between Christmas and New Years, I hate that I will miss getting that money especially this time of year...yuck. But on the bright side, it will be a nice little break and we won't have to pay for day care for Nash that week.
We have Luke's work Christmas Party next week, then Luke is going to be gone for a few days the following week, then it's Christmas! Hopefully my sitter can watch Nash while Luke is out of town, because I really cannot afford to take anymore days off before Christmas. She hasn't replied to my text, so hopefully I will know by Friday.

Still trying to figure out when we are going to open presents with Nash and what we are going to eat for Christmas...I'm thinking breakfast for dinner! But we'll see.
I worked out yesterday, really trying to get back into it, but I seem to only have 2 days a week that I can find the time to get into the gym, something needs to change to fix that problem.
The weather has warmed up, back into the 70's during the day and 40's at night, so very comfortable, I have the heat off and the ac off and it's just nice out, love saving that money on our bills.

Big day tomorrow

Unfortunately because we don't have a sitter for Thursdays I have decided to take the day off from work ( unpaid) to watch Nash so Luke can go take his big test and then he has his off duty job after that. Fingers crossed for the test, I know he'll do ok, but I might be more nervous about it then he is:)
Well, now Nash has figured out how to climb up on the couch...this is not good, because he likes to stand up on it and I'm afraid he will fall off on to the hard floor. Basically I can never leave him unsupervised in the living room anymore, as Luke pointed out last night. Uh Oh!
Thankfully he slept through the night last night, lately he had been waking up crying at least once during the night, but not last night, thank goodness, although Brewski was being restless and kept me up.
Although we had another cold night last night it is suppose to be back to 70 degrees today.
What to do this weekend?
