I finally made it to the new gym last night, went after dinner and right before Nash went to bed, not used to going at such an odd hour, but I have decided that since the gym is 2 minutes away from my house and open 24 hours I now have no excuse not to get my butt over there every day.
So this morning I got myself up at 415am and drove over there, I really thought no one would be there, but to my surprise there were more people there at 430am then at 730pm. And although I am a bit tired, it did feel good to get the workout out of the way for the day and I got to work early as well, probably should have grabbed one of my energy shots, because I might be dragging after lunch time.
I have decided to at least take one day off of working out and that might be either Fridays or Sundays, or maybe alternate. The equipment is so nice and new, I am really excited about it and hope to finally get my body toned like I have been really wanting too for so long now.
Today I learned that we don't have work tomorrow, this is not new information, but had Erika not said anything, I would have gotten up, dropped off Nash at the sitter and been here at work. So I am very thankful for Good Friday and having an paid day off tomorrow, love those! Easter is this weekend, we have no plans because Luke is working, but I feel we should do something. I have some goodies to give Nash, but it still won't really feel like Easter. He did get to see the Easter bunny at the mall, but didn't seem to have much interest in him...maybe next year.
I think I'm gonna get a ham to cook on Sunday...Happy Easter!

Horned Owls
We have 4 horned owls in our neighborhood and all I can think about is how one of them is going to prey on Brewski and fly off with him. I thought of it breaks my heart, so now I have to go outside in the evenings and early morning with them while they use the bathroom. I don't worry about Bobby because he weighs more, although technically he could still get attacked. Ever since Luke told me one of our neighbors spotted it on their roof, which happens to overlook our backyard, I'm more worried about it.
I don't think this is real common, but I also don't think it doesn't not happen. However, Luke, Nash and myself walked to the front of the neighborhood to get a better look at the owls and their nest and they are HUGE and their wing span is soo BIG! Nash had no interest, he was just happy that were were letting him walk freely in the road and he got to pet a couple of dogs a long the way and meet some little girls in the neighborhood as well. We met our neighbors who live caddy corner to us, I always see them from afar, but didn't know much about them, nice people, they have two older kids.
We went out to El Charro for dinner last night with my Mom, she left this morning to head back home. Not sure when we will see her again. But Aunt Debby and cousin Aryn are coming out here soon and Nash will love that.
I spotted the first spider I have ever seen in this house since we moved in..it was in our closet...and of course as soon as I spotted it I freaked and started yelling..Spider...Spider! until Luke came upstairs to kill it. Now I remember why I hate this time of year, all the bugs come inside. Next thing on my to do list is get the house sprayed, inside and out. And it wasn't exactly a small spider either.
I have decided this weekend I'm devoting most of my Saturday to cleaning the master bedroom and bath...like SUPER CLEAN and if I have time Nash's room as well and his bathroom, or basically the whole upstairs.
Now that I have a new gym membership to a 24 hour gym, I think I'm going to try to go early on Saturday and Sundays..I think to most this sounds really dumb, bc this is the only days that I can sleep in...or maybe I will try going early Thursday and Saturday mornings and make Friday and Sundays my non workout days...either way, I HAVE to get back on track and that starts today with some light cardio. The equipment is really nice and I can't wait to try it out.

Great weekend
It was a hot weekend but a good one. Friday night was low key, nothing really but some dinner with my mom at the house and tv for the rest of the night. Saturday I got to sleep in, since Luke was also off work, he took on Nash duty for the morning. We were off to the county fair by 1pm...it was hot, but not unbearable. Nash got to go into the petty zoo, he loved it, he kept calling all the animal "Bobby" and he would say "nice" as he pet them, as if he were petting Brewski. We got to eat a lot of junk food, but it was so good. My Mom took Nash on the carousel, I don't think he really like it, but had we been able to ride it more then one time he might have loved it after while, I think he was just a little unsure, it was after all his very first "ride". We bought him a blow up Spider-Man, which he loved, we had ice cream before we left and then Luke and I went and saw a scary movie called Insidious, where we also got to enjoy our free popcorn vouchers and a huge Cherry Coke. The movie was really scary, I didn't think it was going to be because it was only rate PG-13, but I liked it, reminded me a little bit of Poltergiest movies. We picked up Nash and drove home...I was going to hang out downstairs and watch some TV, but found that I was actually a little bit scared to be down there alone and without the dogs, so I went to bed like everyone else. Sunday I got to sleep in again, it was another lazy Sunday, just like last weekend. But Mom came over for dinner and had bought Nash and Sandbox...he loves it and i can already tell we are going to be spending a lot of time outside playing in it...should be a lot of fun for him. It was a hard Monday morning to get up, I didn't want to do it...but I did and today I'm gonna go check out the 24 hour gym that is down the street from out neighborhood, I'm really excited about it, being that it is so close to home, i can take advantage of going after Luke gets home and even on the weekends..I'm really hoping to get back in the swing of things, especially after eating so much junk food over the weekend.

Fair
The weather is warming this weekend and just in time for the county fair. This week has been exhausting, Luke has had a nice little break/vacation while my Mom has been here, I however have not, it is actually more difficult then usual, getting him up and going and in the car by 6:10 so I can drop him off my 6:45 to get to work by 7am. And Nash is the grouchiest person I know in the mornings. He HATES them, he will just cry and cry and cry...poor guy...usually takes him a while to calm down. Yesterday he threw a huge fit at me, bc we got home from the grocery store and he immediately wanted to go outside with the dogs. He couldn't possibly understand that I needed to put away the groceries first and then we could go outside, however that is what I kept telling him. We finally went out and he loved it, but threw another short fit when it was time to go back inside. I kept having to lure him with crackers and juice and bath time, he loves his baths. His nose has been running a lot lately and he has been sneezing, not sure what that could be...I always blame everything on him cutting a new tooth, but who really knows.
I finally finished watching the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, I really, really liked it. They did a great job depicting the 1930's and on and the houses looked so realistic and all the clothing, I just loved it. I bet it will win some awards next year and I bet Evan Rachel and Kate will win some awards with it, they were really good in it. I love Kate Winslet.
I brought a salad for lunch today, but it does not sound appetizing at all and I'm debating on going to get me some Taco Bell or Subway. My idea when buying the salad was to eat healthier, and I had one for dinner last night but it just doesn't sound good at all today. I think I will indulge and get me some taco bell this time around. Our internet and server here at work is running terribly slow and it's making get any kind of work done aggravating and impossible.
Luke gets to play golf today, we decided to do another movie night, but I think tomorrow night after we to the fair since we will be on this side of town anyways. We gotta use those popcorn vouchers!
I think I am gonna make a deal with myself, now that I am 30 I have decided that the sun is no longer my friend, or at least sun bathing is no longer a good idea. I bought a hat yesterday to shield my forehead from the sun while we are at the fair tomorrow. I am too freaked out by skin cancer and, premature aging and wrinkles to ruin it by basking in the sun. So I have decided to not do it, that doesn't mean I won't sit in the sun or go swimming or go to the beach, but I will be lathered in sun screen and covered and for sure have some kind of hat on my head :) Wish I would have thought of this nifty idea before now.
Tomorrow is the fair, I can't wait for Nash to experience it or at least see some animals and maybe play a carnival game or something.

rainy and cold weekend
It's not very often that we get rainy days that last all days...and apparently on this rainy Saturday, everyone had the same idea.."lets go to the mall" Nash and I met my Mom up there and it was so crowded you would have thought it was Christmas time. I can't stand to shop when it's that crowded anywhere...but it was fine and thankfully Nash was good and didn't fidget too much being in his stroller the whole time. I kept him happy with animal crackers the whole time, which besides the word truck is also his favorite word to say constantly.
Luke and I had a half date night and got to go see a movie Friday night. We saw Battle of Los Angeles and it was a really good movie, not really what I was expecting, but I liked it a lot. Before the movie started we were sitting there and the previews started and there were all kids movie previews, and I looked at Luke and I was like are we in the right theater, because they wouldn't be showing kids movie previews for this type of movie. Then all of the sudden the movie started and it was Hop, not Battle of Los Angeles. Luke went to check and see if we walked into the wrong theater, but then it became very clear that everyone else there were not there to see Hop. So we got to see no previews and they started the right movie and gave us all free popcorn vouchers good for a year. I'm thinking Luke and I should go see another movie this Friday so we can use our one of our popcorn vouchers, plus we might as well take advantage of the free babysitter.
Yesterday, Nash slept in until 11am, he didn't actually sleep that long, but he laid in his crib and would fall asleep and then wake up but never really cried and I of course kept falling back asleep too, I finally went in and got him up because it was lunch time. It was a lazy day, Mom came over in the afternoon and we ordered pizza from Marco's for dinner and just had a relaxing evening. I think I need a haircut, but I don't really want to go pay $45 plus tip for a cut, that would really just be a trim, so I'm gonna hold off for a while longer. I have no desire to chop all my hair off and donate it to locks of love like I did 2 years ago.

Countdown
I like how there is a clock on the MSN new page counting down the hours to a possible government shut down. It makes it seem like it is a count down to dooms day. Very timely after Luke and I just watched a show last night about the Apocalypse and how there are all these people that are preparing with underground bunkers and building into the side of mountains. People are paying millions of dollars for these things. And all the websites out there where you can get supplies, like Nuke suits and gas masks and 4 year supply of boxed food. Very scary to think about and then I wonder what are these people going to think when nothing happens in 2012, and what are they going to do? Wait for the big comet that is suppose to hit Earth in 2046? I don't like to think about it, it makes me anxious, but I could go both ways. There was one man who believes at 11:11 am on 12/21/12 is when the world will end, and he thinks by jumping off Bell Rock in Sedona, AZ that will save the Earth. He obviously is going to die by doing this whether the Earth ends or not.
My question was what time zone at 11:11am are we talking about here. He seemed very adamant about his beliefs...Luke and I and Brewski hiked up Bell Rock, it was beautiful, but I would never think of jumping off of it. Such weirdos!
We are suppose to have a date night tonight and go see a movie, but Luke hasn't been feeling well and has took the past 2 days off work. I think he is milking the no dogs, no Nash and no wife at home to bother him, plus the Masters is on. He felt good enough to order a pizza, so I think he is doing just fine. Hopefully he will be up for going to see a movie after dinner at my Mom's.
I have been so busy at work lately, a lot of people asking me to do a lot of things, it's nice, but I feel like I am working hard for no money...if only our pay cuts could be diminished and go back to normal and if only Luke didn't have to continue furlough days...with gas going up and Luke having to use the more expensive gas for his car, things could get really tight again really fast. And our so called idea of going to San Diego for a family get-away might just be a dream. But it looks like we will get to go to the Pima County fair next weekend, I hope Nash will get to see some farm animals and maybe even pet some, I think he would just love it.

Got myself a library card
Made a trip to the Oro Valley Library yesterday to get a card and check out some books. I felt like I was back in college again, wondering around the isles, rows and rows of books. The quietness...except this library was consumed mostly of senior citizens, most of them using the computers or checking out DVD's. All for FREE! I got a couple books, I had to get out of there quick, Luke kept texting me and then he called to tell me I needed to pick up some more diapers. I was afraid the librarian police were going to escort me out of there, because I could not figure out how to silent my phone...They have a huge kids zone room and they have weekly story time for kids Nash's age, of course it's smack in the middle of a week day, as if I can actually make that happen..oh well..it was a good idea at least. I got home, and decided to go for a quick run...I'm feeling really out of shape, in fact it's on my mind constantly. Not having that gym membership really has messed with my mind and body. The run was terrible, hard to believe a couple years ago I ran a half marathon and actually enjoyed it, wish I could get back to that place in my on running again. There are so many things that I want to do...I keep saying I want to take Nash to Catalina State Park, to play at the creek water. It sounds weird to say that, but the last time I was there, people were laying out there like it was a beach and kids were playing in the water. I'm positive he would just love it, he loves water and loves throwing rocks, and there is tons of both at the park, well maybe not water. I guess I should go and see if it has dried up, hopefully not. I think I'm gonna start going hiking when I can since it's light out still at 7pm. When I got back from my run we were suppose to grill out chicken for dinner, but Luke was in a mood and didn't want chicken again and wanted to go to In and Out Burger, I caved and said ok, even though I knew I would just be consuming bad calories that I had potentially just burned off on my short terrible run. But we did and we sat outside and it was really, really nice, the sun setting turning the mountains orange, it was so pretty. Luke asked me if I was really sure I wanted to leave this beautiful scenery. Of course I love this scenery, I doubt we will ever live anywhere as beautiful as this place. But just because it's beautiful doesn't mean it's our permanent home. So many things to think about lately. Still playing this waiting game with Luke's job process. Hopefully everything will be worth the wait. Nash is getting so big, for some reason he looked older then usual last night. He loved sitting out side at In and Out and watching all the big trucks go by. He is obsessed with saying "truck" so anytime we are in the car I always point out all the trucks to him, it keeps him quite occupied and he loves the school buses. Looks like we are suppose to get some rain today, I had no idea, it's days like this that I really just want to stay in bed and sleep in longer. I swear each week getting up for work gets harder and harder, plus I haven't had a day off since February, seems longer then that since we were in Indy. Mom get in town in about an hour and I don't have to pick her up from the airport, so I guess we will be meeting for dinner tonight...another night of eating out...not good for my checking account :)

need shorts
Nash already needs an abundance of shorts. It's already getting too hot for pants. And our visits to the park lately have been very dirty but fun. He more so likes to sit and watch the other kids, but I took him down one of the slides and he loved it. It think I might have been more scared then him at first, but he just laughed. We went on a bike ride and stopped at the park on the way back both Saturday and Sunday mornings and because of that he took a nice long afternoon nap. I'm looking into possibly going up to a kiddie park in Phoenix that also has a Splash Park. I'm not really sure what to expect, but it's pretty cheap and I really want to take him somewhere where he doesn't have to be confined to a stroller the whole time. And his obsession with water these days, I figured he would love the Splash park, but we also have the Pima County fair going on this month, a lot going on. My mom will be here tomorrow, which means Nash will be staying with her everyday and the boys will be staying with her the whole 2 weeks she is here. It's always nice to have a little bit of a break and Luke and I are already looking forward to going to a movie this Friday night, something we don't get to do very often anymore. I'm sure the two weeks will go by pretty fast, and then it will be Easter and then it will be May and I have no idea what the month of May will bring. Probably hotter weather, which means we will have to be indoors more :( But I told Luke we will definitely have to take Nash to the local water park here in town, once it opens at the end of May. I don't understand why it's not already open, it's sure hot enough.
Poor Luke has to get some dental work done this week and poor us have to shell out money for it...ugh! but a necessary expense for sure.
Looks like I will hold off on joining another gym, really wanted to do that this week. There is one that just opened near our house that is open 24 hours, which is so convenient, I can go anytime and whenever. Maybe next week I will join....
