My plans of relaxing this past weekend did not happen at all. I am finally back to work after being gone Monday and Tuesday.
Starting Friday afternoon I started feeling bad and this continued with stomach pains and non-stop fevers, until finally I made Luke miss work and take me to the doctor. Dr. Yim thought it might be my appendix because of my symptoms so he sent us to the hospital, which was luckily next door so that they could do a CAT scan to make sure it wasn't my appendix. I felt like I was dying, those fevers are awful and also when you have to be walking around and filling out paperwork and sitting in a waiting room and keeping an eye on your son because all he wants to do is walk everywhere :)
So I told Luke to go home with Nash, because Nash was getting grumpy, and I had to wait in the waiting room by myself, and I had to drink this nasty drink and sit for 90 minutes, then get blood drawn, then finally go in for the CAT scan and get hooked up to an IV so they could shoot Iodine in my body, which left a nasty taste in my mouth and it makes you feel like you wet yourself, which they did warn me of that feeling. The best part about the whole experience was the toasty warm blanket they covered me up with.
Luckily after spending half my dad at the hospital, results came back and it wasn't my appenix, thank God! I was so worried, I didn't want to have surgery, I have never had surgery, the idea of it was freaking me out big time.
Apparently I had Colitis caused by a bacterial infection in my colon. So I got some meds and have had no more fever and I'm finally 4 days later feeling back to normal, somewhat.
I have to thank Luke though, he was great at taking care of Nash and taking care of me as well.
It is definitely not easy, Nash as been the ultimate Wildman on our hands, he managed to get out of his crib last Saturday. I was of course in bed and Luke had put Nash down, and next thing I know there's Nash standing in the doorway just a smiling and laughing holding on to his beloved blanket. At first I thought Luke had gotten him out, but I quickly realized that didn't make since.
Luke and I were both confused, but we think he stood on his blankets and stuffed Shark and was able to get his leg over and somehow amazingly enough not hurt himself. The kid is crazy, now he is doing this thing where he stands on the couch cushions and just falls backwards, we're hoping he is wise enough not to do this on the ground...then last night he was walking around the living with his blanket over his head and Luke and I are just talking and next thing I know he ran straight into the TV stand and then fell back and hit his head on the floor. He is a tough one, that is for sure.
He was putting grins on everyone's face at the hospital, that's for sure.
So since I got nothing done this past weekend, I have lots to do before we leave in less then a week, crazy how it is almost here. We are really excited.
Luke and I were actually complaining about the 77 degrees weather that we are having right now, I'm not ready for the warmth to be here. So Indy weather will be refreshing, I can't wait!
